Meet Your Wedding Florist
Greetings, I am Mia Florist - the creative mind behind Buds on B.
I’ve been flowering since my teenage years, over 14 years now and have been running my own floral business for more than 9 of those. I fell into floristry back in high school, after deciding horses weren’t the path for me. My parents encouraged me to learn a trade, so my mum found me an apprenticeship at a local florist on the main street of Gympie… and I haven’t looked back since.
Creativity has always been in my bones, from scrapbooking and drawing to sewing and even renovating. Floristry has become the perfect outlet for my creative energy and also for my love of hard work. When I’m not flowering, you’ll usually find me knee-deep in dirt on my sister’s properties, swinging a hammer, or working in the garden. Doing the kind of jobs you probably wouldn’t expect from a “pretty, young, delicate” florist (I get that a lot).
What matters most to me is creating something special. I don’t mind what form it takes, as long as I’m designing, I’m fulfilled. I work intuitively, guided by texture, tone, and whatever the season brings. I take in the space, the energy, and the feeling of the moment, then let the flowers tell the story.
